Meet Gwen Child, LCSW
Gwen believes everyone deserves a safe and compassionate environment to process their experiences. She meets clients where they are without judgment, aiming to support them in deepening their self-awareness and building skills for navigating life’s challenges. Applying trauma-informed principles, she creates a nurturing space for clients to engage with their emotions and memories. Her holistic approach integrates her background as a yoga teacher, incorporating mindfulness and somatic healing techniques while emphasizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
Gwen tailors her therapeutic approach to individual needs, drawing from various modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She holds a strengths-based perspective, believing each individual has the ability to meet their own needs.
She works with adults of all ages, specializing in young adults, college students, and couples. Gwen frequently helps clients manage anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, workplace or school stress, burnout, ADHD, trauma, and substance use. Whether it’s making significant life decisions, navigating relationships, or practicing self-care, she provides a supportive space to help you build resilience and align with your personal growth.
As a therapist, Gwen offers a safe and compassionate environment grounded in trauma-informed care. She integrates yoga-based mindfulness and somatic healing with evidence-based modalities, including CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, DBT, and is trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy.
