Meet Grace Chen, LCSW

Grace’s approach is rooted in empathy, kindness, and understanding. She holds a nonjudgmental and collaborative space for clients to courageously explore the intricate nuances of their unique experiences and cultivate a deep sense of self-compassion and acceptance. By navigating these inner landscapes, clients can identify patterns, discover inherent strengths, and build a more authentic life. Grace specializes in working with individuals struggling with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, low self-esteem, and dating and relationship challenges. She is passionate about supporting those who identify as “outsiders,” artists, and individuals navigating multicultural experiences and identity exploration.

Grace integrates a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), psychodynamic therapy, and expressive arts therapies. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Columbia University and a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

You might have had a bad break-up, lost a friend or loved one, or are struggling to cope with daily life, seeking greater insight into changing patterns or navigating a confusing time. Perhaps you carry the weight of untold stories and unfulfilled dreams, buried beneath years of struggle, or move through life feeling fundamentally different, flawed, or alone. You may wonder, “When can I finally breathe easier?” Grace sees you, and she is here to support you as you navigate the unknowns of yourself and your life. Because each person is different, psychotherapy is an individual, unique process.
