Meet Claire Coonrod, LCSW

Claire’s goal in therapy is to provide her clients with a safe place to grow. She brings her caring, empathetic, and genuine nature into the therapeutic environment. Claire will sit with you through your pain, celebrate your small and big wins, and laugh with you through life’s funny moments. Claire’s focus is working with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

She takes a trauma-informed approach and is EMDR trained. In addition, Claire uses exposure and response prevention (ERP), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. Through these approaches, Claire is able to watch her clients reach their goals, which fuels her passion for the field.

Can't stop thinking about the "what ifs"? Or maybe you find yourself spending too much time worrying about what people think of you. Sometimes, you get to a point where enjoying the present is difficult and you just can’t seem to shake the feeling of being “on edge.” You may even get a sinking feeling in your stomach when Sunday rolls around, knowing you have work or school ahead of you. Feelings and thoughts like this may seem like roadblocks to achieving your goals; however, change is possible. Claire hopes to support your own journey in change.

Claire has a strong belief that everyone has the capability to change. Often, she sees clients come to her in places of pain, anxiety, and insecurity. Through support and validation, she is able to see these clients thrive and find meaning in their lives. Each client’s journey fuels her passion for helping others grow. She offers EMDR, CBT, DBT, and more.
