Grief doesn’t follow a script, it can show up as sadness, numbness, anger, guilt, confusion or all of it at once.

OUR APPROACH

At Ember, we understand that grief doesn’t follow a straight line. It moves in waves — sometimes gentle, sometimes overwhelming — and often shows up in ways you didn’t expect. There’s no “right” way to grieve, and no timeline for when it should feel easier.

We support all forms of grief, whether you’re mourning the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a miscarriage, infertility, the loss of a pet, a chronic illness diagnosis, or the disorientation of a major life change. We also hold space for all types of loss including: ambiguous loss, when a family member is emotionally absent or you’ve lost a sense of identity while living abroad and for disenfranchised grief, such as grief after a miscarriage, the loss of a pet, or mourning that isn’t acknowledged by others.

Paired with grief, you may also experience anxiety, sleep issues, or a sense of emotional disconnection. If so, learn more about our anxiety therapy.

Grief therapy isn’t about fixing, minimizing, or forgetting. It’s about making space for your emotions, honoring what you’ve lost, and finding ways to carry it with less weight. Over time, we gently support you in rebuilding meaning, restoring connection, and rediscovering parts of yourself that may feel lost.

Grief doesn’t go away - but I’ve learned how to live with it, while not feeling overwhelmingly lost in it.
